What is CrossFit

CrossFit is a functional strength and conditioning program designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience.

CrossFit is unlike any other fitness program out there. Whether you are an Olympic level athlete, an average joe, or a de-conditioned senior citizen, CrossFit is for you. Are you training for performance? Fat loss or muscle toning? How about strength gain? You may want to train to increase your functional range of motion and overall health. Whatever your goal is, CrossFit is for you.

CrossFit combines weightlifting, sprinting, and gymnastics. Proficiency is required in each of the ten fitness domains: cardiovascular/respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, agility, balance, coordination, and accuracy.

So what do we do?

CrossFit athletes will learn how to properly execute functional body weight movements (squats, lunges, push-ups, row, box jumps, jump ropes, pull-ups, ect.) before progressing into more advanced level exercises like power lifting, Olympic weightlifting, kettle bells, muscle ups,  head stand push ups, & other advanced level conditioning exercises.

Classes typically include a warm-up, a skill development segment, and a high-intensity workout that lasts around ten to thirty minutes. Affiliates create a new workout each day called the "Workout of the Day" or "WOD". Some workouts will be focused on metabolic conditioning “fat loss zone,” while workouts are more concentrated on strength, power, endurance, or a combination of two or more of the ten fitness domains.

Unlike any other fitness program out there, CrossFit is measurable, meaning you will have measurable and repeatable data to prove you are getting fitter. This means you can score a workout and repeat it at a later time to measure the work produced. Not only will you see and feel improvements physically, your score will demonstrate it.
